  i posted another comment about how angry i'm getting with the organisation.

  the thing is, it is this and other message boards that are making me feel this way.

  Ballistic - I for one am glad you came here. I have enjoyed many of your posts and consider you totally top notch. Perhaps the board is a type of therapy - and some of it you gotta just brush it off or be the duck and let ot R-O-L-L off ur back.

  I know sometimes that is sooo tough to do, but think of the people/lurkers you may have helped. You have such good posts. Maybe it was just one person - but I know you have helped. You helped me, and that was worth it, wasn't it?

  If you are thinking about leaving, don't, for me, OK? I will miss you. So many of my real "cyber friends" wanna leave - but if you all do that, you leave your real buds behind. I for one don't have a lot of "real freinds," I left them all behind. All of you - are really all the friends that some of us got to hang onto. You all are our therapy. OK hun? Does that make it any better, at all?

  Why did you have children (or not)?

  ok, after reading some of the responses in the mental health and depression forum ... and of the mormons' urging of their followers to have large families, ... and participating in the discussion on the costs associated with having and raising children, ... the question comes up ... .

  for those of you with children or not, or those contemplating having children or not, ... what factors did/do you consider in making your decision (or, was there any decision-making involved)?.

  do you think children, largely, are just a by-product of sexual activity between fertile men and women, ... or are there other, deeper issues involved?.

  My daughter was not planned, but she was the best thing that ever happened to me. She and I will love each other until the day we die. It is an unconditional love that you will NEVER replace or substitute. I can't explain how a mother feels when she has love for her child - but it is so awesome.

  Tattoo You?

  Yes, I regret I may. Although the one I have is on my lower back - so who cares, I won't see it.

  I did make the mistake of getting a tattoo on my stomach below my hip. Having a baby ruined part of it since I a stretch mark going through a section of it and the tattoo artist was not that much of an artist, so the ink is missing in spots. The tat guy my husband goes to is pretty good and he swears he can fix it, but I don't really care. The only person who sees it is my husband since bikinis cover it up (yes, it's pretty low) and my husband says it's not as bad as I think.

  Anyhow, to make a log story short I probably won't regret my tats since I put them in places that can be hidden since I work in a professional work environment. and if I do regret them I will deal with it then and get laser removal.

  Incest - when did it become a bad thing??

  in the beginning, if there were only two humans and they had kids, how did the kids have kids if not through incest?

  my question is this.

  when did that become unexceptable?

  The Eve Hypothesis seems to be just that - a hypothesis or theory. If this is correct and (and I believe it is correct) - I will try to play the argumentative party here. Where did the various races come from, was there a gene mutation. The races don't just vary in skin color and facial and body shapes, they doffer within themselves. Some tribes in Africa that are dark in skin can be unusually tall where others are a little over 4 feet tall. Also, too, what about the theory of Cro-Magnon man and Neanderthal man? Where do these come into play? To be honest, I do not think science is far enough advanced yet to truly trace the origin of human DNA after thousand of years of breeding, be it 6,000 years or 200,000 years.

  I have not yet had the chance to look at these theories forth, but I will make it a point to visit the link you all have provided as well as obtain a copy of the book you mention Ballistic.

  Yes, a drunk man can have sex - my husband is a prime example. As far as forgetting, I have no idea because I have always been aware of what I am doing when I am drunk - but - I have a very hard time controlling my actions. If it was thousands of years ago and Lot did not have to education to know incest was wrong or forbidden and his daughters came to him in a drunken state, it is possible for him to have sex in the dark and not see who it was, maybe even thinking he was hallucinating or "out of it" and went along with it willingly. I must say, my mother in law and father in law are both alcoholics as well as the fact some of my friends are heavy drinkers. I have heard of blackout drinking where a person is so wasted they are truly unaware of what goes on around them. This is a medical debate for some since some physiologists believe it is a cop-out and some medical doctors feel it can be proven.

  Elders meeting tonight?????? Need advice???

  well - my father (he's an elder) asked me if he could watch my daughter saturday night and i could pick her up sunday at the meeting or he would drop her off at my house.

  well, they have offered to watch her overnight plenty of times, but he has never offered to drop her off at my house on a sunday!

  the clincher - he said he would normally watch her tonight since it's a friday, but he has an elders meeting.

  CO visit was just a while ago and assembly as well - so I doubt that's it. I also just now god a voicemail from a sister who wants to study with me when she gets back from vacation (which I would like to know, what the heck would a study teach me? I alreayd know all the beliefs.) Arrgggggghhhhh. Thank u Ozzie and Joel, but I am still nervous.

  Reform....why?

  the organization cannot be reformed from outside; that can only come from individuals who have the guts and will to do so inside, and the determination to get rid of hardline thinking that is so strangling.

  my personal desire is to see immediate change regarding the child abuse policy, and that will come.

  to see a clear, quick change in the horribly inconsistent blood policy rather than drag it out over years; kids are dying in the process.enforced shunning is also an evil that they will have to deal with eventually; it's ripping them apart.. .

  Excellent points. I believe that the WT is part of the false prophet, but I choose to lump them all together (anything false and disgusting - Mormons, Catholics, etc...)

  But, all of our doctrinal beliefs were based upon this false prophets teachings, so we as individuals need to look into our beliefs and test the accuracy of them. Take for an instance the rapture. The bible does say every eye will see him coming on a cloud; or the last chapter of Revelation where Jesus calls himself the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last; hence the trinity (?).

  Truth be told, the bible can be foggy, and with so many figurative examples, it can be hard to sort from fact and story.

  Let your heart be your guide Deacon and follow the two greatest commandments - Love your God and Love you brother as yourself. ~~ I believe in God with every fiber of my body and so I feel that is I am a good person and love others, God will find favor with me. And, to quote Ozzie - "Get out of her, my people, if you do not want to share with her in her sins." We have to do what is right, that's a fact. If you know something is a lie, will God really find favor with you?

  Very good point tho - break the rules then don't break the rules, it gets a bit confusing.
